Monday Motivation: Osama Bin Laden Dead and A Tragedy Now Rests in Peace
Hello,
It's always a blessings to have the chance to speak with you, but today's Monday Motivation means so much more for many across this great United States of America and abroad.
On yesterday, I learned, as many of you, that Osama Bin Laden was found and is now dead, but this is not the only good news. We are also able to begin putting the pieces back together in our own lives after the many tragic losses of September 11th. We can now allow ourselves a chance to put a tragedy once stained in our memory on a daily basis, to a rest for moments in our memories. We are able now to allow our loved ones the chance to rest in peace and carry on their legacy and purpose that they so wanted for us.
It is not good that any man should die, but the fruits that Osama Bin Laden produced were his fate. I hope we all will learn from this event that we are all must pay a price for our actions and some actions cannot be corrected with a slap on the wrist or imprisonment. Although we have those measures in place, there are some who choose to want to die instead of paying for their crimes committed.
As I look back on where I was and what I was doing on September 11th. I was on Active Duty in the United States Army, just a couple of miles from the Pentagon and realized that it is a true blessing that God gave me another day to live and be able to share this moment with you. It is also a blessing to see the Navy Seal team coming together and working as a unit to get this mission accomplished. Outstanding job!
In closing, we must love one another and do good deeds for one another. However, we will always remember this day in the backs of our minds as the day that all the newspaper headlines read in their own ways: Osama Bin Laden is Dead.

Sunday Inspiration: Pride
Hello,
I'm so happy to share another Sunday Inspiration with you on this very beautiful morning in California. On yesterday I watched one of my favorite movies, Pride and Prejudice
, and woke up this morning with one single word on my mind. This word was 'PRIDE'.
Before going any further in thought, I decided to take a look in the dictionary to find a really good meaning for 'PRIDE'. The meaning I found was:
I believe that we must all carry some form of pride in ourselves because with this, we are able to fight through those people and matters that try to hinder our personal growth and/or accomplishments. If we carry ourselves with pride in a way that allows people to recognize our confidence and purpose for being, then we are living as examples and not as meager noise feeds. I am not proud, but prideful by how much God has blessed me to use my gifts and talents. I hope that by exploring your hidden gifts and talents within, you are thankful and prideful as well. I'm finding, in my line of work, that many senior citizens are realizing that in retirement, it is the best opportunity to transform their lives. It's a time to look back and be prideful of how much was accomplished and how much is yet to be discovered as one looks ahead.
Pride can be misunderstood or misrepresented, but it rests in all of us and when properly shown, can set up a whole new journey through life.

When I read this definition and remembered the events of the movie, I realized that pride can take on different meanings. If one decides to pride him or herself on being a good tennis player because of their hard work and dedication to the sport, then that's good pride from my perspective. However, if one decides to pride him or herself in such a way that closes others out as if they are the most important person in the world, then that is a negative use of pride.a high or inordinate opinion of one's own dignity, importance, merit, or superiority, whether as cherished in the mind or as displayed in bearing, conduct, etc.
