The Heartbeat of Love - written by Selena Brown

The Heartbeat of Love
*written by Selena Brown

My eyes look into the distance
at the blackened figure, protected by the Sun.

It has no urgency or intention to harm
it reaches for me and I become lost in its charm.

Tested by the power of its innocence and passion
makes me reach back with no real understanding that it's near.

I confuse my palpating organ as I continue to reach for the blackened figure
walking with strength and power of a new day towards me.

It wants me and only me and nothing can stop it from penetrating my body
which loses rest so often during the night
I breathe, the breath of renewal. I breathe.

It reaches me and stands before me in a protected cocoon, made by the Sun.
It knows my name, my intention, and mostly how to satisfy my deeply-enriched desires.

I feel us become one and with one touch, we become engulped in endless passion,
passion that no one can experience, but us.

We are one and with one touch we made love in the Sun.
The Heartbeat of Love.

How to Write Love Poetry for Seniors

How to Write Love Poetry for Seniors

I absolutely love writing about things that touch and inspire me, hoping that they will enrich someone in the process. So, I've decided to help some of you lovers out there who are thinking about writing a love letter filled with love poetry for your particular senior sweetheart the Valentine's Day! I ran across a great article posted by an eHow Contributor with some great pointers on how to write love poetry for seniors. Enjoy!

Senior citizens have a unique perspective on life, having lived through decades of change. Seniors who have been married for many years will appreciate poetry that reflects love through the decades. Newly paired senior citizens may appreciate love poetry that reflects their special beginnings.

Movie Date for Senior Couples and 'Something's Gotta Give'

Movie Date for Senior Couples and 'Something's Gotta Give'

It's absolutely nothing wrong with making your Friday, Saturday, or any night of the week a simple movie night with your new senior lover. Sometimes it can be the best and most intimate time you two can share and get to know each other outside of all the noise. Personally, I would rather stay home and watch a good movie like the one I am recommending to all my senior couples who are just wanting to kick back with each other to share a nice movie.

If you are looking for a great movie that will make you laugh, feel sexy, rejuvenated, and even cry a little, then you two need to get a copy of 'Something's Gotta Give' with Jack Nicholson and Diane Keaton. I've seen this movie probably a dozen times now because it's just that good. Jack Nicholson plays the playboy with a libido much younger than his years and he preys on younger women rather than the women in his age range. However, something happens to him when he meets the mother of the younger woman he is interested in, which is played by the fabulous Diane Keaton, who is a divorced playwright. [You have to just watch and find out for yourself]

This movie will keep you laughing and rethinking all of the stereotypes of old age and hopefully by the end, you and your partner or date, will have enjoyed it so much that you two will be on your way to a second date!

Make sure to share how everything turns out with a little comment. Or, if you've seen this movie, what did you think about it?

Create Joy in Your Life To Make Room For Love

Create Joy in Your Life To Make Room For Love

Sometimes it's easier said than done to create the joy we all need in our lives. We have to deal with the external struggles of life and then with some of us, it becomes a struggle just to accept the attacks that linger over our bodies with age. However, love still makes its presence known by the people, pets, or simple dreams that we may have from day to day. Although this love is there, how do we truly tap into it? How do we become transparent enough to accept it?

As we continue to embark on our journey into love, I thought it would be wise to help each other find and create the joy in our own lives to make room for love. As you read this, you may be wanting love, but do not understand how to create it and have it manifest into your life. Well, it begins with you creating joy in your life and when you are happy and content where you are, then you are creating a huge space for love to enter and remain. Do you ever wonder why you seem to receive the things you always wanted or hoped for when you least expected them? This is because during the times when you were busy doing what brings you joy, you were more receptive and available to change and better yet, a transformation.

Love is available to all of us at any age of life, whether it be at first sight or the second or third. However, it's up to you and me to make the room for it to stay permanently.

I saw this video and thought it was very inspirational and wise to share with you. Enjoy with love, -Selena

Marriage the Second Time Around

If you are wondering if marriage the second time around is for you, then you just have to watch this video segment. It will help any senior citizen, widow, or widower have firsthand pointers on how to go about this goal in the right way and help them to avoid all of the outside distractions.

We all deserve to be loved and it doesn't matter what age you are as pointed out by this amazing couple who had the fortunate opportunity of marriage the second time around.

Leave us your thoughts, we would love to hear them. Have a lovely day!

Our Journey Into Love: The First Date

Love can be mysterious. It can be kind, but when it is shared with the right one, it is forever becoming.

Valentine's Day is soon approaching on February 14th and it is so nice to share love stories of how seniors met and how they have learned to keep the love alive in their marriages and simple relationships. Maybe this journey will teach the rest of us how to believe in the possibility of love or create a stronger bond in the relationships we are currently apart of.

To begin our adventure into this mysterious thing called love, I thought we should see how a first date looks from a senior citizen's perspective. Enjoy and tell me what you think?
  • Does it look any different from your very first date? If so, how?
  • Do you still believe in love?
  • Do you believe that love can last forever? stand the test of time?

With Love,

Selena Brown
